Our Story
Mac and Coppers was founded as most things are, out of necessity.
Founder Ritchie, went on a family trip to NYC with their two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Mac & Copper. While visiting, Mac & Copper led the family to a dog groomer, renowned for preparing dogs for the Westminster Dog Show. They were able to get Mac & Copper groomed. It was amazing to see their transformation. They had never looked so “regal”.
Mac & Copper went to a groomer months later here in Portsmouth. The people and service was not the same quality they received in NY. Showing the manager pictures of the dogs after the appointment in NYC, he asked why the dogs looked drastically different. He was told, “If you can do it better, you should do it yourself.”
A few months was all it took to assemble a team to provide great grooming services and build a shop that people would love. Created for pet lovers here on the Seacoast is our award winning pet supply and grooming shop, Mac & Coppers.
